Comfort under wood in Paris.

For the second time, Desistart Group follows WEWOOD’s furniture, this time at the Maison et Objet international fair held in Paris from 4th to 8th September. In order to add comfort to the environment presented by this national brand of furniture, Desistart provided several rugs ranging between Lucca and LYO qualities. This event is becoming one of the world’s most relevant design fair, celebrating this year its twentieth edition.
WEWOOD is a Portuguese brand founded in 2010, as the result of the Research and Development Office of Móveis Carlos Alfredo, a company specialized in manufacturing & exporting solid wood furniture since 1964. WEWOOD became quickly a reference in the promotion of portuguese culture and design. Find their stand and Desistart Group rugs at Hall 7 Stand 96.

LEVE at Sao Paulo

Integrated in the official programme of the Portuguese Design Year, Portuguese design works will be presented in two of the world’s most important cities, São Paulo and London.
The exhibitions will take place in August and September of 2015. Institutional partnerships with the two design events that will take place in these cities — São Paulo Design Weekend, Made 2015 and London Design Festival — allowed for the integration of this presentation of Portuguese design within the programme of those events, which will result in enhanced visibility for national design.
São Paulo, a strong platform within the emergent Brazilian marketplace, hosts an exhibition of equipment design. In London, one of the world’s most competitive capitals, an exhibition in the field of graphic design will be held. The invited curators for these exhibitions are the gallerists Guilherme Braga da Cruz and Diana Sequeira, responsible for the equipment design module at São Paulo, and the professor and curator Andrew Howard, who will carry out the selection of works for the presentation in London in the field of graphic design.
Relations with the United Kingdom and Brazil are of extreme importance to Portugal, as these are both strategic countries concerning our international networks. London Design Festival is one of the world’s most important events in the field and, most recently, São Paulo Design Weekend constitutes a very relevant event within the Latin-American design scenario. Showcasing Portuguese design in these markets was a decision aimed at communicating our competences and our innovative ways at an international level. The curatorship of both presentations will focus on the ability of those who have contributed the most for the affirmation of national design and its identity: Portuguese designers. — Guta Moura Guedes, Portuguese Design Year Commissary.

Our rug “Nothing to Hide” designed by Rita Botelho was selected for the exhibition.
